Easy PDF Error Outlook 2010 64Bit

Hello,

We are seeing an issue when trying to use Outlook 2010 64bit with Navision 2009 and Easy PDF. When choosing the email option we get an error saying

EASY PDF ERROR:

Insufficient permission to open Outlook.

Just wondering if anyone has seen this before and might know how to fix it without going back to a 32bit version of Office and Outlook?

I am seeing this same error in 32 bit Outlook 2010, its inconsistent though only occurring occasionally, anything I can do to correct this?

RE: Easy PDF Error Outlook 2010 64Bit

    Hello ServiteCGroup,

As you are aware Microsoft does not support general compatibility between Dynamics NAV and 64-bit Office.

To circumvent this problem in NAV 2013 Easy PDF no longer uses the built in NAV email components - this

allows it to support Office 64-bit email generation (i.e., sending an email using Outlook 64-bit).

We have not yet received (many) requests for 64-bit support (of this nature) for NAV versions prior to 2013.

It is possible to 'back-port' the Easy PDF 2013 architecture to NAV 2009 - though to this point in time it has

not been a priority item due to lack of demand.

If you would like to influence the decision please contact Bob Cole <bob.cole@dynamicsnavaddons.com>

    to voice your interest.

    Thanks and regards,

    Phil Rios

RE: Easy PDF Error Outlook 2010 64Bit

    To Phil Rios / Jeremy

I've just upgraded to Office Professional Plus 2010 in my Servers for the staff and have the same issue.

Is there an update to Easy PDF to be supported in outlook 2010 in a 64bit environment ?

I see an update was planned to be around January 2013, any progress ?

    I have Navision 2009 R2.

IF the Send By Email function doesn't support the Add-In for Easy PDF, there must be some other Add-In or solution as one would suspect these days Office 2010 64bit is becoming a business standard and more importantly in Server environments being 64bit.

Looking forward to hearing from any suggestions / solutions

    Thanks

Re: Easy PDF Error Outlook 2010 64Bit

    Hi Jeremy,

    Sorry for the late response.

I am the author of the Easy PDF addon.

The problem that you ran into is due to the incompatibility of the NAV interface to 64 bit Outlook.

Your solution - switch to the 32 bit version of Outlook - is the correct (and only) course of action.

I will resolve this problem in a general manner for all versions of NAV in the 2.0 release of Easy PDF - ETA approx 1/1/2013.

    Regards,

    Phil
