We are using Standard inventory management.

when dealing with serial controlled parts, when user is trying to register or pick , the process is lengthy.

if user has to pick/register 20 serial numbers then he has to Split lines 20 times ,then do Add registration lines.

is there any way this split step can be avoided ?or split can split in 20 lines in one go instead of splitting 20 times.

as the serial number is an inventory dimension you have to enter 20 records when you want to pick, transfer, register 20 different serial numbers.

some questions from my side

What do you mean with „standard inventory management“? Do you use the „new“ „warehouse management“ with standard scanning features, license plates and so on or „inventory management“.

what form do you use to register the consumption, do you create a picking list on production order level manually?

i remember some modification we did in the past to have a possibility for the user to split lines into x records (as 1:1 copy) and the user just modify the serial number. Another option might be scanning but therefore you will need the warehouse management module,

Hi Christopher,

By standard i mean ,basic Inventory management , not the warehouse Management. i think the app is available if we use WMS.

yes we do create pick list for production order Manually, below is the Split function i am talking about.

so i think this is what i can conclude with the current setup , there is no function, best is to get another option in split function to split in multiple line at one time.

Hi,

understand. In our case it was the same situation and we did a modification in this split form to provide a field „number of splits“ not just qty. Based on that the logic created the number of lines requested by the user by creation duplicates of the selected record. Then it is easy for the user to change the serial number.
