Hello:

Short of it is, I created an extension of the WMSBillOfLading form. When I open the extended form, the WMSBillOfLading datasource with all its fields are greyed out and italicized. Although I'm able to see a field I had added to the WMSBillOfLading table in datasources, I'm not able to add it onto one of the controls group.

Hi KBanh,

Are you trying to add a new field group or do you want to add the new custom field to an existing field group? You are free to create new tab pages, groups and then add your field. In case you want to add the field to an existing field group, you need to check if the group is bound to a Data Group. If that is the case, you can add the field by adding it to the field group with the same name as the data group property in your table extension.

Hi Andre,

I'm trying to add the new field to a group of control, not a field group. Specifically, I'd like to add to the General fasttab > Other group on the BOL details form. My problem is within Visual Studio, I'm not able to drag and drop the new field from data source to the group of controls in Other.

Hi, We can't add field in Form FieldGroup control. Insteaad, RIght click on field group, check the DataSource and Data Group. Go to that Datasource table and add field in that field group. It will be populated automatically in form.

Note that this New field will be displayed in all forms where that field group is used.

Hi Mohit,

That's part of my problem. I can't add the field to the group or the form group. The extension is in my model but the data source table isn't allowing me to use any of the fields. The WMSBillOfLading data source icon is greyed out as are all the fields.

If drag and drop is not working - Create a new control in the group (Deign) and map the DataSource and DataField properties.

You can right click on Field Group and click on New Field to add a field in fieldGroup in Table extension. Copy paste the field name if it does not show in Data Field lookup.

Are you able to share a screenshot about what you see and where you want to drag and drop your field? I do have the option to drag any extension field to the form.

I don't have any option to add to the field group. I checked the field group in the table but don't have any option to add there either. Thank you!

Hi Andre,

I'm still not sure why I wouldn't be able to add to an existing group --- maybe the group is configured to not allow add? I ended up creating a new field group to get around this. Thank you!
