Hi All,

I have a data entity with shared table as data source in which one of the columns is  dataareaid column, we have made the data entity available in open in excel menu options but the requirement is to  export only for the current company based on the dataareaid column.

The ranges columns in the data entity doesn't work so I have added in the datasource range but that syncs to the default company to dat when i checked in sql.

How can we acheive this.

You can't apply such dynamic ranges in the metadata definition of the entity. Only in runtime.

However the "Export to Excel" exports only the records that the user has filtered / visible on the form. So you can either create a default filtering logic on the form (show only records where DataAreaCreatedIn is current company), or let the user filter as they see best and export the result to Excel.

In other words, the Export in Excel shows you the same data than what the user sees on the form. That's the purpose of the feature: export what you see into Excel.

That's a new topic / question. I suggest you first search the web ("dynamics 365 operations filter form x++" or similar search words) and if you can't find info, please post a new question on the forum.
