Update AX kernel version

Hi All,

I am planning to update the AX kernel version on my Terminal Server 1.

I noticed that the servers are on the same Application version but different kernel version. So I wanted to update the TS01 to be on the same version as TS02.

Can anyone help to point me on how can I update the kernel version?

TS01:

-Kernel Version: 6.0.947.0

-Application version: 6.0.1108.2423

TS02:

-Kernel Version: 6.0.1108.3529

-Application version: 6.0.1108.2423

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Ivan

6.0.1108.3529 falls between build numbers of AX 2012 CU4 and CU5, so it's CU4 with some additional hotfix(es).

Ivan when you try to download the hotfix you will something called binary only. Just download that and apply this will in turn update your Kernel version.

You need to find out which all Cummulative Update and Hotfix you have uploaded in TS02

those all cummulative update and hotfix you need to install in TS01

While installing CU and hotfix you get option to component which you want to install there you should not select the database if you want to update the kernel verison (keep this point in mind) otherwise Application version will also change.

As Martin pointed out  version 6.0.1108.3529 is in between CU4 and CU5

as per best practice it is recommended to have complete Cummulative updates to uploaded

so consider CU5 for kernel Version and Application version.

Please verify and let us know if you need more details

Hi, if you really want to upgrade the kernel version to exacatly 6.0.1108.3529 you can download the KB 2800904 from lcs which is a kernel update and contains exactly theis version.

Keep in mind: If you use IssueSearch you'll find an  R2 entry for this article. Bur if your're going to download you will see both versions of this hotfix.

    regards

    Douglas
