Assembly reversed - Remaining quantity

Hi everyone,

I have this situation that not even my partner knows how to solve:

An assembly was made in three assembly orders, those orders used:

10,000
18,000 and
12,000 LB each,

then those assembly orders were reversed, but now I have this three open rows with remaining quantities and original row has less quantity remaining, the correct quantity should be 157,886 as we already reversed Assembly orders.

I also need to reverse 157,886 LB that came from another assembly order. None of this quantities have been moved since they where assembled. I already have tried to use Application Worksheet   in order to try to fix these but I can't. Could you give me a hint on how to solve this situation?

TIA.

Let me see if I understood:

    • item MPCS-06 is the output of an assembly order where a quantity of 157,886 LB was produced
    • MPCS-06 was then consumed on 3 separate assembly orders with quantities of 12,000, 18,000, 10,000
    • the 3 assembly orders were reversed so the quantities of 12,000, 18,000, and 10,000 were put back into inventory
    • the problem is, when the quantities of 12,000, 18,000, and 10,000 were put back into inventory, the system created 3 new item ledger entry lines, rather than updating the remaining quantity field in the original output line (so the original output line has a remaining quantity of 117,886 rather than 157,886)
    • overall you still have 157,886 in inventory. Its just sitting in inventory from 4 different item ledger entry lines, rather than 1 line.

So what is the problem here? Using the Undo Assembly button created new item ledger entries to put the item back into inventory, but your inventory quantity is correct.

Is the problem because you need to reverse the original output of the assembly order where a quantity of 157,886 LB was produced? If that's the problem, then don't use the Undo Assembly action button on that posted assembly order. Use an item journal to manually undo the assembly. You would do a negative adjustment for MPCS-06, and a positive adjustment for the items consumed.

    Valentin is correct,
By doing Undo on assembly order, You cannot link the consumption and reversal entries to each other. If You need to do a correction, then You have to post an entry from Item Journal.

I would suggest you to go to item card just for below item and investigate if someone has transacted on this item. the screenshot on the post doesn't tell the whole story.
