Closing or reopening a case changes case activity chronology

Posted on by 10

Hi,

The issue is:

If I am closing or reopening a case, the case history in the activities is changing too. Not only the order of the history, but also the times of the past activity entries are changing. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

An example below:

1. Case is closed

2. Same case is reopened:

3. Same case closed again

4. Same case reopened again

    Hi selimdag,
Through my test, activities can't change order when it update again after I set timeline order with ‘created on’ value.
However, when I close or reopen case, the record about case will change at the same time, which is because a new record (case resolution) is created when you resolve it every time.

Thank you guys for your answers.

The timeline is reflecting the sort order when I change it, however the date field displayed will still be the default (Modified On) and will not reflect the new Created On sort criteria.

If I want to change the display configuration to match the new sort order, I have to choose to display each Activity entity by Card Form and modify the individual Card Forms accordingly. But the incident resolution (Anfrageabschluss) entity won't be listed here. The reason of this is probably that there is no existing card form in incident resolution entity. But this entity is not customizable. So it also doesn't let me create a new card form.

    Hi selimdag,

As Bipin mentioned above, activities in timelime show order with Modified On Date.

Now, you can make it show with ‘create On’ value:

    Hi,

When you Resolve Case, all open activities will be closed so system will update modified on data of activities which is why timestamp is getting changed on Timline.

As you know Timeline shows Activities Modified On Date.
