Hi Mallesh,

First you need to create gift card service item and assigned this item under retail parameters posting section, select gift card company and serial number template than issue the gift on POS. Once you issue any gift card it will be available in inquiries under retail module.

Can you please explain how is "Set up gift cards [AX 2012]" as a first hit on my link not applicable for you, when your question and tags ask about that specific topic in relation to the Retail module and product?

Maybe providing more details on what is not working for you would be helpful.

Hi Pranav Sharma,

Without POS we can do the use of gift card in sales order processing in AX .

Is there chance to do like that without POS?

Hi Mallesh,

We can use gift card on sales order under the payment option. But for this we need to create call center sales order and set gift card as one of the payment method and redeem gift card against the sales amount. Basically we used to call it prepayment functionality.

Hi Mallesh,

You need to setup the following

1.Create a Product for Gift card

2.Define this product in Retail parameters/Posting/Gift Card

3.Gift card Company should be defined, Gift card policies can be used if required.

4.Configuration of Gift card default policies & Policy sets are based on your requirement.

5. To use this in POS , Add Issue Gift Card / Pay Gift card & Gift card Balance buttons in the respective screen layout.

6. Configure Gift card as a Payment method, Assign this payment method to the respective stores/Payment methods.

7. Schedule relevant jobs to update the Store server.
