Copy Company

In our test database we have two companies:

Pilot3 then copied this company and now have testdb070716.

Since renaming Pilot 3 has been an issue, is testdb070716 exactly the same as Pilot 3?

I am thinking just delete Pilot 3 using testdb070716, management does not like the Pilot 3 name.

They feel it is confusing with our live database.

Please advise, thank you.

If you do not like the name of the company, you can always rename it:

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh168729(v=nav.70).aspx

If you had made a backup and restored it, it would be similar to your initial company.

If you feel that users might confuse the live company with test company, restrict user access to test environment.

Just to be safe take the backup of the database, since you already copied the company as different name yes you can delete it, just make sure there was no activity after you copied.

What was the isssue you encountered while renaming the company ?

Renaming Company Should not be an Issue.

Makesure you are only connected to database, disconnect all other users or kill all other Active Sessions.

On the File menu, choose Company, and then choose Rename.

Give your desired Name and click OK.

It will take bit time to perform this action have patience.

    You are done.
