Don't know if there is still a AX 2012 forum, so I'm posting here.
We still have one of our sub-companies on AX 2012 R3, will move them over to D365FO later this year.
I need to rebuild the dataMart for it. However I get an error that it cannot connect to the database server.

The user I'm using is an SA user (not the default 'sa', but a dedicated service account) on the SQL server with windows authentication. If I look in SSMS on the SQL-server, the server roles of this user are: public and svsadmin.
Inside the AX DB this user does exist, imported from Active Directory, with roles Security Administrator and System administrator.
So it looks like all the permissions are fine.
I'm using the default ports that the MR 2012 configuration console (version 2.12.13002.1) comes up with under File > Configure.
AOS services port: 8201
AOS port: 2712
Here is a snapshot of the deployment log. I have removed the user name and DB names and company names etc, but it should still be clear enough.
The Management reporter is on one server, the AOS on another and the SQL on another. The user account I'm using has access to all 3 of these on premise servers.
Can anybody tell me what the problem is? It looks to me that it can connect to the SQL server. Thanks for any help.
