Hello,
I have transactions that are posted using mobile device in advanced warehouse by a specific user. When I trace the transaction to the general ledger, the created by and modified by user ID's are different. Can anyone advise where the 'Created by' and 'Modified by' user ID's are populated from on the ledger trial balance?
The entry is an inventory adjustment journal that is posted from a work ID.
Thanks in advance.
Thank you.
The user ID in the Azure Active Directory application WMAPP.
The journal names (created by) is a personal user id, and (modified by) is a different personal user id... Neither are WMAPP.
Hi Kevin,
A warehouse login is different from the user which is used for the actual warehouse service. On the form Azure Active Directory applications, you can check which user is used for the warehouse operations based on the Azure AD app registration client ID used in the warehouse management mobile device.
Frank,
Thank you for the reply.
What was interesting, is that was the case in one company I reviewed. When I looked in a different company, the created by was an IT admin and the modified by was a consultant who had not been on the project for over a year. Neither user (created by or modified by) was the account listed on the Azure active directory MD setup. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place?
Generally, any integrated transaction, which an MD transaction technically is, will reflect the user under which the integration is running. Until someone opens and reviews the journal, it should reflect the same user in Created by and Modified by. Just opening and journal and closing it will update the Modified by user to whomever viewed the journal. Is it possible this is occurring?
It appears to be ledger postings through mobile device.
If a user makes an inventory adjustment using a mobile device, I would anticipate that the Created by/modified by fields on the ledger transactions would be the MD user that generated the entry.
The actual created by/modified by user is completely unrelated to the transaction and possible a user that set up MD.
I initially thought it could be the name associated with mobile device on Azure active directory, it appeared to be correct in one company, but unrelated in another.
How are they different? What is your expectation?
How is the business process executed?
