MDGP18.5 keeps locking, random crashing & Printing issue in Windows 11

Hi All,

Does anyone have been running into any issue in GP18.5 with Windows 11? Like unexpected locking, random crashing, crashing or locking when printing to an IP NETWORK PRINTER.

Windows 10 machines are working fine without any issue.

I have tried a few things list below on Windows 11 but it seems to me nothing works so far.

1). Updated the IP printer driver on the server.

2). Unchecked the check box to let windows manage printers.

3). Change the RPC connections.

4). Created a brand-new Reports dictionary from Windows 11 and placed in the local data folder.

Temporary work around:

The user prints to the screen with no problem.  The default printer in GP is set to an IP printer.  When there is an issue with the Print Dialog box open you can close it and click print again for it to open and change the printer to the local printer and you can print to the local printer with no issue.  This does not solve our problem as we have to print to an IP printer.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

    We haven't seen any issues with GP 18.5 on Windows 11, but I don't know how many customers we have running with an IP Network Printer as well.

    Do you have the issues with GP crashing with any other printers but the IP Network Printer?

    Have you also tested with a 'clean' instance of Dynamics GP, meaning no third party products or customizations, to rule those out as being a potential cause?  (using our rename/repair steps for a 'clean' GP directory is a good test.......)

    We'll see if anyone in the Community is using this same type of printer with GP 18.5 on Windows 11 and is having issues or not....

    I would check that the "Data Execution Preventation" is set to "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only"
     
    System Properties >> Advanced >> Performance >> Settings.
     
    If not set to the first option, you can add the Dynamics.exe to the exception list as an altenate option.
     
    Also, ensure the users have full access to the GP Folder.
