Hello everyone,
i have trouble understanding how opportunity and competitors work.
Let's say we have an opportunity, and in the competitors subgrid we have two competitors, Company A and Company B. As expected, if you open either of the competitiors, you will see the opportunity in question in the list of opportunities in the competitors' form. Then, let's say we lost the opportunity to Company B. Click on Close as Lost, and then in the opportunity close window you select Company B as the winner in the drop down list. Now, i would expect the opportunity to be removed from the list in the Company A, and it would remain ont the list of the Company B with some indication about Company B being a winner. This seem logical to me.
But that is not what happens. Opportunity is being lost, but both of competitor records still contain the opportunity in the status lost, and there is no way to tell which competitor won the opportunity, since both the records are the same. I don't believe you have to manually open each competitors (who are not winners) records and delete oportunity in their lists respectively. There's got to be a better way of seeing who won the particular opportunity.
Please help me understand how is this supposed to work, since my client expects this functionality.
