I would like to know if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 provide this functionality out of the box in which we can maintain fixed asset issuance after receiving it in our inventory. Currently the behavior is as soon as we receive fixed asset it automatically transfer it to Fixed Asset register for depreciation calculation and removed it from our inventory. However what is require is the similar kind of treatment which is there for OPEX related items. Though we would like to have it reflected in fixed asset register for depreciation calculation but at the same time it should be available in the inventory until it is issued to department/person who has requested this item, so that we can find out which fixed asset are currently available in our inventory and ready to be issued to user.

Hi Nadir,
Unfortunately AX2009 does not ship with the fixed asset - inventory integration you are looking for. The only standard feature that comes close to it is the Russian inventory and Russian fixed asset module. Those modules are, however, Country-specific and you cannot use them out of the box in any other country without making some considerable system modifications. For that reason I believe that your only chance to get the Kind of functionality you are looking for is (a) making a system adjustment or (b) implementing an ISV solution that can handle it.
