Is there a report or Smartlist that will tell us, of the inventory we have instock, what was purchased in the past 3 years

We have 2 vendors who may allow us to do an excess inventory return, but only on product that we have purchased within the past 3 years. They specifically do NOT want us to try include a long list of old inventory on them, they asked that we be careful to only request a return on items that we have had for 3 years or less only.

Is their a report, or a smartlist or a Dynamics Report that we can run to show unsold receiving's that are not older then 3 years?

Suggestions?

Thank You.

Clay Tait.

If you have Smartlist Builder you can create this by looking at the last purchase date and the last sale date. Include any item where the date difference is less than 3 years.

    Hey Clay,

I think what you are looking for is the Inventory Purchase Receipts Smartlist list. This has the Date Received Column, QTY Received and QTY Sold column that could be used to determine if that layer has not been sold.

You could use filters to restrict anything that is not older than 3 years.

    I hope this helps!

Thank You Brandon, and Richard for your responses.

Brandon, regarding that Smartlist report you refer to, is that in Smartlist Builder or SmartList Designer. (we only have Smartlist Designer)

If it is in your Smartlist Designer, it would appear that we do not have that report (out of the box - in inventory). I was playing with a Smartlist in Purchasing, but it doesn't have the the QTY Sold colunm.

In the Inventory Smartlist, I can't seem to find the Date Received or QTY Received or the QTY Sold colunms.

We have been on Dynamics GP for a very long time, Is there a way that I can re-populate any new SmartList Designer Reports so that we have the available ones?

Or is there a way that we can compare to see what is available out there vs what we have?

Or if we have to make a new Smartlist by linking the columns, where would the Date Received , QTY Received and the QTY Sold columns be found to link to the Inventory side of the smartlist?

    Hey Clay,

This is a core Smartlist Designer Smartlist. It is located under the Inventory Section under Inventory Purchase Receipts folder.

By default, the columns I referenced are already on the Smartlist. However, in the Column list, there is a drop down to show all fields if a field is not showing that you want to add. Now it doesn't always have every field.

I am not aware of a way to reload the core Smartlist. If there is a way to do this, I believe it would have to be done through SQL as I am not aware of a front-end solution to do this. Perhaps someone on the forums will know if there is a way to do.

You should not have to create a new one as i believe you were looking under Purchasing instead of Inventory. However, if you do, I think we could just use the current view and build a new smartlist off this. We can address this aspect if it comes to this.

Let me know if you see this Smartlist when looking under the Inventory Folder.

    Thank you!

Date received, qty received and quantity sold are located in the purchase receipts table. Perhaps there is a Smartlist that references that table?

Thank You Brandon and Richard for your input, and patience with me on this.

Brandon, we do have, it looks like some how, way back when, the "Inventory> Inventory Purchase Receipts" folder got changed in my system to a goofy number - so I didn't even explore it - I thought it was nothing.

So it is there, and that report should work GREAT.

    Thank You again.

I guess it doesn't matter, but I thought correcting the Folder to the original name of "Inventory Purchase Receipts" could easily be done through changing it in "FAVORITES" on the menu bar.

But that doesn't seem to work for me.

I also signed on as SA to see if that would allow me to correct the name - no go there either.

Does some know of a way that I can correct the folder name in the system?

or is it just messed up somehow and I have to leave it?

    Thanks

    Hey Clay,

Glad to hear you were able to find this.

So with the numbering convention as a name, this is likely due to an extra column added to the smartlist. I have seen this once before. However, you cannot modify the core ones stock columns. It will always revert back.

What you will need to do is review the ASIEXP86 table and remove the bad line. This will take some time if you are not familiar with the Smartlist Tables as they are not very straight forward.

I believe you will need to look at the ASITAB30 table for this.

    select * from ASITAB30 where transval = '28036'

Then test updating the TRANSVAL to be the Inventory Purchase Receipts. This is against Dynamics so will affect all. Be sure you have valid backups that can be restored. Even better is to have a test environment since this is Dynamics.

This worked in my system to change the name that was displaying.

    I hope this helps!

    Thank you!
