inventory (item Model Group)

Hi, a question about inventory transactions of items in D365 SCM, I create a new item (A) with a “Item Model Group” (IG), as seen in the picture, I make a production order of an item (B) which is formed by a BOM which includes Item (A), I process the order and select from a warehouse without existence of item (A) which should not be possible considering the configuration of the “model group”, but if it appears as negative in my available inventory, do you know why this case occurs ? and how can I solve it? the should be that if I do not have available in the warehouse that I select it does not allow me to process the production order. The order is already in finished status, but I want to correct it for subsequent orders. Thanks

    Hi Mike,

Next to the item model group, the Storage dimension groups has settings to let the application know what storage dimensions are considered to be part of the physical or financial inventory. In case the Physical inventory is not enabled for the Warehouse dimension, it will explain the current behavior. With the setting below, at Site level, you can't have negative on-hand, but per warehouse it is possible to have negative quantities.

Thanks, I already checked and if I have a configuration equal to the one you show, but the peculiar thing is that this does not happen with all items that have that “Item model group” and / or “storage dimension group” only 3 products (new) are the ones that present this behavior.

    Hi,

Can you check this parameter under production control.

The same option is available while posting a consumption based on your flushing principle.  Make sure this is No.
