Managed Solution import failed - Error code:0x80048425

Hi all,

I'm getting the following error when attempting to import a managed solution from our Dev to Live environment;

"The selected file is corrupted or it does not use the correct schema. Either select another file or modify the file to use the Microsoft Dynamics CRM migration template schema"

Details from the log file -

Date/Time ItemType Name Localized Name Original Name Description
10:36:06.07 Form Account Company Account Business that represents a customer or potential customer. The company that is billed in business transactions.

Status ErrorCode ErrorText
Failure 0x80048425 The Form XML does not conform to the required schema. A schema validation error has been detected at line 0, position 0. Details: Element 'control' cannot appear more than once if content model type is "all".

From what I can find this error means the input XML does not comply with the XML schema. Where could I look to find out what attributes are causing the problem and what can I do to resolve? I'm using CRM 2011 system based in the Microsoft 365 cloud.

Many thanks for your help!

Ian

Looks like the error indicates that the account entity in the customizations.xml file has a duplicate "control" element in the <forms> area.

Might have to do with a sub-grid being renamed.

Looks like there was an issue concerning this fixed in UR7:

    Hi Jason,

    Thanks for the help.

I've been looking through the customizations.xml but have been unable to locate any duplicate control elements. Is it definitely relate to this .xml?

I'm using a MS 365 Cloud hosted CRM, and so assuming it shouldn't be affected by the UR7?

I'll take another look at the customizations.xml, thanks again for your help.

    Hi Ian,

Thanks for your question.  My name is Josh Wells and I am a support engineer on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM support team.  I have reviewed your issue as well as Jason's response and the issue is going to be within the customizations.xml file.

If you haven't resolved the issue by now, my recommendation would be to export just the Account entity and no other dependencies.  This would limit the amount of data you have to review.

Next, you would just want to look for <FormXML> and then review all of the "<Control id" sections.  Notepad++ has a great functionality for finding all references within a document.

    Hope this helps.

Well, managed to resolve the issue and import the Managed Solution.

There were 6 duplicate <control id entities, where once deleted, the solution would import. What is the reason for this? We're using 365 Cloud CRM.

    Thanks for your help guys!

    Ian,

Glad to hear that Jason was able to get you the needed information to resolve this issue.  I have researched this a bit and it looks like this may be the result of multiple managed solutions trying to merge the FormXML  However, this is merely some speculation as it was never fully investigated.  I would recommend engaging our Support team to dig further into the why behind it.  It looks like this may take some time to really dig into.

    Hi Josh,

Thanks for looking into it. As far as I know, there is only one Solution using this particular FormXML, which is the solution I was attempting to import.

I still have an outstanding support case with Microsoft, however I found this was mainly waiting for info, chasing for updates and getting nothing useful back. After 15 days I've still had no response as to why this error occurred, but I hope it's being looked into and I will get something back soon.

    Thanks,

    Ian

    Hey Ian,

Can you shoot me a personal message with your case number?  I'll take a look into it on my end..
