Hi,
Just starting out on a D365FO implementation for retailer with 700+ stores.
Is it best practice to configure each store as a site as well as a warehouse?
Initial thoughts were to setup sites as regions / states, but have found that configuration such as default order settings where purchase orders or sales orders for a released product can be stopped only at site level and not at warehosue level.
Appreciate anyone sharing their experience / thoughts on this!
Hi, everything depends on your business requirements. For example, for Show rooms type of business does not make sense to have a separate warehouse per store; for grocery stores - definitely, makes sense to have different.
Thank you for your response Mohammed. Appreciate your thoughts :)
Anyone else able to share their experience / thoughts either agreeable or contrarian? :)
Hi Anthony,
Wish you are doing well.
Yes the best practice is to create every single store as a site and if do you have a backroom of every store better to create the backroom (warehouse) as a different site.
This is going to help you a lot in the following:
- Item transfer.
- Stock counting.
- Sales statements.
- Sales reports as well.
