    SVG image as logo
    Hello CU21031430-0,

You've encountered a common issue when trying to use SVG images as the banner logo in Dynamics 365 themes. While SVGs offer many advantages (scalability, clarity), Dynamics 365's theme customization doesn't consistently handle them as expected.

The Problem: Dynamics 365 and SVG Theme Logos

    • Limited SVG Support: Dynamics 365, particularly in the theme's banner logo area, has historically had inconsistent support for SVG images.
    • Rendering Issues: Browsers, especially older versions or in specific Dynamics 365 contexts, might not render SVGs correctly, leading to broken image displays.
    • Caching: Sometimes, browser or Dynamics 365 caching can interfere with the correct display of updated images, including SVGs.

    Solutions and Workarounds:

    1. Use PNG or JPG (Recommended):

      • The most reliable solution is to use a PNG or JPG image for the banner logo.
      • Ensure the image has the correct dimensions and resolution for optimal display.
      • This is the standard and most supported approach for Dynamics 365 themes.

    2. Verify SVG Compatibility:

      • If you absolutely must use an SVG, ensure that it's a simple, well-formed SVG.
      • Avoid complex SVG features that might not be supported by all browsers or Dynamics 365 rendering engines.
      • Test the SVG thoroughly in different browsers.

    3. Clear Browser Cache:

      • After updating the theme, clear your browser's cache and cookies.
      • This can help ensure that you're seeing the latest version of the image.

    4. Clear Dynamics 365 Client Cache:

      • Sometimes, Dynamics 365 itself caches resources.
      • Try logging out and back in, or clearing your browser's local storage for the Dynamics 365 site.

    5. Check Image Dimensions:

      • Ensure that the SVG image has the correct dimensions that D365 is expecting for the theme logo. If the image is to large, or to small, it might cause issues.

    6. Web Resource Verification:

      • Double check that the web resource that the SVG is contained in, is published correctly.

    7. Microsoft Support:

      • If the issue persists, contact Microsoft Support. They can provide specific guidance and investigate any potential bugs or compatibility issues.

      •

    8.

    Key Recommendations:

    • Stick with PNG or JPG: For consistent and reliable results, use PNG or JPG images for the Dynamics 365 theme banner logo.
    • Test Thoroughly: If you use an SVG, test it in different browsers and Dynamics 365 contexts.
    • Clear Caches: Remember to clear browser and Dynamics 365 caches after making changes.

    •

Unfortunately, there is no setting to enable SVG image support for the theme logo. The best approach is to use a standard image format like PNG or JPG.
