    RE: Financial Dimension Default Templates

Sorry I was unaware this was an old post.  the link does not help as I have this setup according to the instructions.  but it looks like the templates do not work for manual entry invoices.

no longer on this client account but hope to have a 2nd client wanting this function in the next few months.

    Hello dserp,

You replied to a very old post.

Can you create a new one and add some supporting screensprints that illustrate what you setup and where you identified the problem.

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig

    RE: Financial Dimension Default Templates

I have created a financial dimension template.  I assigned that template to my free text invoice template.  I generated recurring invoices but the dimensions in the invoice are blank and the post is greyed out due to no dimensions on the invoice.  I then manually assigned the template on the invoice line and still no dimensions are populating.  This is R3 CU13

    What am I missing?

    Hello Harisgillani,

The template functionality is currently not available for sales orders. You thus Need to create either separate sales order lines or do a retrospective allocation for example by using the ledger allocation rules in GL.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Mallesh,

Once you create the financial dimension template, you can use that template in different source document like Purchase requisition, purchase order, free text invoice etc to distribute amounts automatically according to the template.

    Thanks,

    Baber.

    RE: Financial Dimension Default Templates

If you e.g. on a free text invoice have an amount of e.g. 100, then you can manually distribute these 100 on a free text line to different dimensions through "Distribute amounts". So if you do it manually then you have flexibility, but sometimes you want to be sure using the same distribution (to spare time and avoid errors).

Then you can make a template with the distribution and on free text invoice header you can add the template and for amounts entered on the lines the template distibution will (automatically) overrule the dimensions setup on the lines.

Financial Dimension Default Templates are used in the General ledger Module. Go GL--- Setup--- Financial Dimensions- Financial Dimension Default Templates. In this Templates we can configure the various departments of an organisation with the  amount and value of the Business Unit can be attached. It is a template to display default dimension values when you distribute source document amounts.
