Business Unit hierarchy

Hi,

Is it possible to create a Business Unit hierarchy in D365 Sales with a D365 Sales Professional license?
When I search for the differences between Professional and Enterprise licenses it is often stated that a difference is the possibility of  'Business Units'.
Without further explaining what that means....
When I search in the Microsoft Docs for  the differences in license functionality there is no mentioning of the BU-functionality not being part of the Sales Professional license...
Getting a clear answer would help tremendously because if it is not possible with Professional we would have to decide to use Enterprise-licenses.
Thanks for your help.

Greetings, Carlo Magnano

    Hi Devi,

    Thanks for your help.

Our license partner also confirmed that it is only possible with Sales Enterprise license.

    So Enterprise it will be!

    Best regards,

    Carlo

    Hi Partner,

Please check this post. D365 Sales Professional vs. Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise (solutionade.net)

Sales Enterprise edition has the possibility of creating and editing BUs whereas Sales Professional does not.  I also verified the same in licensing guide.

I still suggest to create an enquiry with Microsoft Support and clarify this before you go ahead with the license model.

    Hi Hicham,

    Thank you for your help.

I overlooked it in the 'Tables: Actions' section of the licensing guide.  :-(

    So Enterprise-license it is!

    Thanks again.

    Hi,

Here https://dynamics.microsoft.com/en-us/sales/pricing/#plans, you'll find a comparative between D365 Sales professional and Entreprise.

You'll also find in the same page the D365 licencing Guide where you'll see that we can define and configure Business unit only with an entreprise licence.

Others blogs where you can find what's not available for D365 Sales professional users.
