Development Shell

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have tried to create a test company using NAV 2016 Development Shell (already run as admin). But when I

execute the command "new-navcompany" shell cannot recognize the command and it returned an error. However when I execute the same command on Development shell version 8.0 it worked!!!. Any suggestion what has gone wrong in development shell version 9.0 ? why it cannot recognize the above quoted command?

Build 42815 is the initial version released. You need to at least update it to CU1 to overcome the issue.

What is the build you using? If your build is 43402 (CU1) or higher you will not have this issue. This was a platform issues and it was resolved in the Cumulative Update 01 of NAV 2016.

As Both Versions are installed the registry entries for the powershell modules seems to be mapped with NAV 2015 instead of 2016.

Microsoft have come up with Solution for this and to implement that the approach is -

    > Un-install Nav 2015 and 2016.

    > Install NAV 2015.

    > Install NAV 2016 (at least CU1).

Below is the reference ID from NAV 2016 CU1 Platform Hotfix.

Let us know how it goes.

With what exactly parameters do you run that? What exactly is the error? Do you have different versions installed on the same machine?
