Container Closing Error "Quantity 2.00 cannot be received because inventory transactions with status Registered are insufficient."

HI All,

Having an issue with a client that I haven't run into before. The client has been using the system without issue for the past few months and now all of a sudden the packed container won't close. The Work templates are correct as it delivers and the material to packing and marks all work as complete.

Please let me know if you have any advice on solving this issue?

    Under the inventory model group for the item, you have probably activated physical update > registration requirements. Try unselecting this and try again.

    Thanks so much Fredrik this has solved the issue. Can you give me a quick explanation of what the benefits of registration requirements are? I'm having trouble wrapping my head around why this would ever be activated?
