Timesheet approval scenarios

Hi All,

I have observed that if I enter timesheet lines for multiple projects in a single timesheet form and reject one of the lines then system doesn't allow to post that complete form.

So for example -

Timesheet form has three lines

Project A - Mon, Tue, Wed - 8, 3, 3 Hours

Project B - Wed, Thu, Fri - 5, 2, 5 Hours

Project C - Tue, Thu, Fri - 5, 6, 3 Hours

Now if timesheet line for Project C is rejected, the system will not allow me to post the timesheet form.

Is there any solution for this?

    Hi Nakul,

The question is why is the third line rejected? If this is rejected, would potentially be an issue that some hours needs to be added to the first or second line? That is the reason why it works as designed. You can potentially try to create a timesheet per project, but with a lot of projects it is cumbersome.

Anyway, I would not suggest for a customization to partially post the timesheet as the header has a status field. Most companies just try to push forward for quick corrections of the timesheet and get it approved and posted as one whole posting.

    Good morning nakul,

As QuianQW mentioned, what you see is how AX works by design.

If that is not sufficient for you then you can either make a system modification or consider using an ISV solution.

There are some available that have timesheet line, approval and posting functionalities available.

Just check on MS appsource if this is an option for you.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi nakul_waghe,

This is by design. The whole lines need to be approved first and then a timesheet header can be approved and posted.

Maybe you need a customization to approve and post the timesheet at line level.

    Regards,

    QianQW
