Installation of Async Client fails

ERROR:-

there is a problem with this windows installer package. a program run a part of the setup did not finish as expected.

How to solve this issue.......

Hi fayendra

This is a known issue in the Async Client deployment. It's a bug from the R3 installer.

The issue is caused by the PowerShell script which is trying to deploy the Async client service, which looks for a windows user group. If that groups is not found it simply throws an unhandled error.

To resolve this error :

1. you need to follow option 2 "Install using PowerShell option " technet.microsoft.com/.../dn741220.aspx

2. Try following the process completely once, You will get the details of the error with the code line number where the error has occurred.

3. The faulting script is mostly "Deploy-AsyncClient.ps1".

4. Navigate to the installation path and modify Deploy-AsyncClient.ps1. You will find a loop of code which is validating the existence of a windows group with a flag "found".

5. You may remove this piece of code and mark found = true.

Now if you execute the deploy script, you will be able to successfully install the Async client

Finally i have formatted the CPU then i have installed successfully Async Client.

Fayendra,

Even you manually install it will fail. It is something wrong with the powershell script deploying the service. But by manually installing it, you will get to know the exact line number in script which is causing the error and the same can be removed.

Glad to know that you were able to resolve the issue.

Hi Manish and All,

I am trying to install AsyncClient through Powershell scripts as mentioned in the TechNet (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/dn741220.aspx ) with option 2, but it is throwing as error "Deploy-AsyncClient.ps1 is not recognized".

Can you please help me how to proceed on this.

I experienced the same problem when installing Async Client from AX 2012 R3 CU10. But installing from AX 2012 R3 CU12 was successfull.

I experienced the same problem when installing Async Client from AX 2012 R3 CU10 in windows 10 using GUI Setup. (even i tried in many different version such as win pro, enterprise and LTSB version, still the error raise there is a problem with this windows installer package. a program run a part of the setup did not finish as expected). I don't know why this happen only when i am using win 10, But now i am glad already solve that.
