Fixed compensation enrollment error

When enrolling an employee in a fixed compensation plan, I receive an error to fill in the field "Step":
 
 
But in my Compensation plan setup, I used BAND as type (also in the compensation structure & grid). When I leave the field "Level" blank, it is possible to enroll the worker i the plan. 
 
Anybody an idea?

    Unless someone knows the answer by heart, I would suggest two things:
     
    Ask Copilot - it works well in my opinion for error messages.

    Hi all
     
    We have identified that this issue is caused by a Microsoft bug.
     
    The error occurs when the preview feature "(Preview) Ensure required unbound controls are filled in" is enabled. As a workaround, please disable this feature and try the action again. Once the feature is turned off, you should be able to proceed without encountering the error.
     
    Microsoft is aware of the issue and is currently working on a permanent fix.
