Dynamics AX 2012 R3 - Accounts payable and Accounts receiveable modules missing from the client

I have installed Dynamics AX 2012 R3 on Windows Server 2012 R2 with SQL Server 2014 64 bit and Sharepoint Server 2013 with SP1. I believe I have gone through all the initialisation lists.

I want to use the service management module to create a service order, but I need to first create a customer and customer group. I believe I need to do this via the Accounts Receivable module, but this does not exist in my client.

I'd really appreciate some help with resolving this as I am new to Dynamics and not able to progress.

    Hi CNeedham

Do you have the 'System administrator' role? Do you have a module called 'Sales ledger'?

Yes I have the Sales Ledger module and also the System Administration module. My user is in the System Administrator role, but it looks like most of the roles I can see under "System Administration ->  Security -> Assign users to role" don't have any users assigned. Is this right (I only have me as a user at the moment)?  I can see every other module other than the ones mentioned however.

'Accounts receivable' is the name of the module in English (United States). If you are using, for example, English (United Kingdom), the module is called 'Sales Ledger'.

So, you have access to the module you need. You just need to get used to AX documentation using American names, and sometimes these names are different in UK English!

You can create Customer groups using Sales ledger -> Setup -> Customers -> Customer groups. And you create Customers using Sales ledger -> Common -> Customers -> All customers -> 'New Customer'

Thank you so much for your response, I would never have guessed that! I am not familiar with finance terms on either side of the Atlantic! I actually had a second instance from goERPCloud where I could see the Accounts Receivable module, but it didn't occur to me that I had one set up in English (US) and the other in English (United Kingdom)!
