AX 2009 Client freezes when I try to open the AOT

Hi all,

 I've been banging my head against the wall with this problem since Friday afternoon, and it has stumped myself, my coworkers, and help desk.  I open the client for AX 2009, and the forms and such work fine.  But when I click the icon to open the Application Object Tree, the program hangs.  It will sit there for 5-10 minutes before it times out.  Anyone have any idea why this is happening?  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, tried running it with and without SP1, tried using different ports and configurations (that all work on other machines), all with no luck.

    What is the error log in event viewer at the time of the crash?

    The Event Viewer is showing no errors.  AX just hangs and then eventually closes itself after being frozen for 10+ minutes.

    Are you reinstalling a fresh version of AX (without any customer or var modifications) ?

    It should be unmodified.  Everyone in the office uses the same setup file on the network, and none of them have problems.  I've even installed this on a different machine and had no issues; I just received a new computer and trying to use it on this one is where I've had the problems.

    Hi

    I had the same problem for a long while without beeing able to figure out why. I tested from other machines and it worked, i tested from my machine and got the same problem, i re-installed windows and still got the same problem. I got the same problem with any version of AX no my machine, even the new AX6

    Finally I re-installed windows again without installing the drivers and software for the computer, the computer is a HP laptop, AX then worked as it should, i could open the AOT from my machine when only windows was installed.

    Then I installed the drivers one by one and testing AX until i found it, in my case it was the Digital Persona Fingerprint Reader Software, Version:6.208.0729.2008 A that was causing the problem, I removed it and everything now works. So my suggestion to you is, check if you have any drivers or software that extends the logon functions in your system, it is probably the cause of the problem.

    Hi.

    I had the same problem with a HP notebook and the problem was solved uninstalling the Digital Persona software version 4.11.

    Ax version 5.0 - Rollup 6.

    hi all ,

    I have HP elitebook 840 notebook that has not fingerprint option that s why I am getting same not responding error while I am trying to open AOT tree , ıs there anyone has any idea for this situation ?

    I got the samme problem with a hp PC. I uninstalled 'HP client security'. Then it worked :-)
