I have new urgent requirement . Kindly help
Because of CORONA the client lay off few employees and now wants the employees of PURCHASED depratment to work in other departments too like STORES OR PRODUCTION
Sharing the manpower among different departments would be the new NORM -that is the tag line for CORONA
As of now a worker can only be assigned to one department.. How to achieve this in aX 2012..have one worker work for different departments

Hi,
A position can only report to one position. An employee can be assigned to multiple positions and each one of those can report to a position. So you can achieve an employee reporting to multiple positions, but based on the description I don’t think that is what the customer is after. They seem to want a single position to report to multiple positions and that is not supported. if you want the same employee to report to more than one manager, it has to be with different hierarchies. They can have one line manager and then in the relationships section can report to other mangers based on those hierarchies.

Worker A-assigned to Production Department --->Raised production order--send to approvel for production manager..Other production staff reporting t Worker A-if they raise the Prod order it should come to Worker A
Worker A-assigned to Stored Department--->Raised store order requ--send to approve for store manager..Other store staff reporting to Worker A-if they raise the Store order it should come to Worker A
A worker A will work for two departments and report to different manager at different time

It would be possible to assign multiple positions to one worker where one of the positions will be the primary position. Each position has a department. When you are able to do this setup, what would be the next requirement? Do you need reporting, defaulting of dimension values or something different? Or is just listing an additional position enough?

Do you refer to the department that is linked to the position an employee has assigned or a financial dimension that is linked to your worker?
