Unpick an item after the status is under packing slip

Hi,

I have a scenario where there is an item which was suppose to be unpicked but the picker picked it. The status is already changed to packing slip. How can I unpick the item .

I have followed the following steps but still I am not able to unpick the item.

I clicked on packing slip journal for the particular sales order I want to work on and cancel the SO. The status changes to "canceled" and document status remains "packing slip".

Then I click on picking list journal and click picking list registration and under the lines when I click on functions > unpick I get an error message saying "Quantity XXX cannot be unpicked because inventory transactions with status Picked are insufficient".

Please let me know how can I unpick an item after it is under packing slip status?

It's pushed back to the picking list.  You're always going to see the one that was previously picked.    Did you create a new picking list for the item, after you cancelled the packing slip?

No I did not create any new picking list. But my picking list/packing list buttons are disabled after I canceled the packing slip from Pick and Pack tab.

How am I suppose to pick again or unpick?

I'm not sure where you clicked cancel?

You can go to the Packing slip journal on the sales order and use the 'Cancel' button which you find there. This will reverse the packing slip, and I think it will also reverse the picking.

However, if you picked the order using Warehouse management processes, Cancel packing slip is not supported and if you're using CU9 or later AX won't let you.

    Guy,

    I am using CU9 and AX 2012 R3.

I canceled the sales order under the packing slip journal.

But now when I refreshed the page I am not longer to use the picking list and packing slip as they are disabled.

So I go under the packing slip journal and from there I go to picking list registration. For the lines when I click on function > unpick it does not allow me to.

In any case, if I have completed the packing slip process how can I unpick an item?

The picking step is an intermediary step. It has no inventory transactions. When you pick the items for an order the status for the output order is set to picked. When you post the packing slip you close out everything. When you cancel the packing slip, the items are returned to the initial picked location. You do not have to unpick them. This is only possible when items are picked and before packing slip is updated.

Please check your inventory transactions on the sales order line to confirm your cancellation was successfully executed.

    Fredrik,

So does that mean I cannot unpick an item after completing the packing slip?

You then have to cancel/correct the packing slip. This will return the items to stock.

Go to the Sales order and find the 'General' tab in the ribbon bar. Click on the 'Line quantity' button. What does it say?

    Quantity for each item

    Great!

    Unpick = success!
