Dear,
Can I know who has accessed my Dynamics AX Database this month.
Version :AX 2012 R3 CU10
Note: Database log not enabled in AX.
AX users don't access the db, only AOS does. If someone else accesses the db, it's not from AX.
I believe you can collect some access logs in SQL server. Perhaps you should ask in a SQL forum? Assuming this is what you are looking for.
You can see accessed the Dynamics AX environment, through the client by using the sysuserlog table in SQL or using the form in AX called User log under system administration | Inqueries | users | user log. As already mentioned people accessing the database through other tools cannot be tracked in AX. What options you have available really depend on what you want to accomplish in your goal to understand "who accessed my database"
If you have more detail we may be able to better direct you.
Hello Mazherullah,
Not sure if I got your question right but are you looking for the user log form in AX?
=>SystemAdmin-Inquiries-Users-UserLog
There is also a report available in the report section that shows the data in printed form.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi,
Reg. UserLog form, it was not enabled. Only now I enabled it from License Configuration.
My question, Is there any way I can find the list of users/AXclient user who have accessed/login to Dynamics AX this January thru AXClient.
I am having Ax 2012 R3 CU10
Users connect to AX thru AX Client.
Note: I checked SysClientSessions table and found few entries. It has not recorded all entries.
Kindly help if you have any alternate way out.
Ok, so the question was not related to database but AX. No, you can't get user logs from the past if you hadn't enabled the log. It's good to plan such things in advance, rather than only when things go wrong and you need to find who did it :)
Is your final requirement just "who accessed the system"? I recommend sharing your actual business requirement (always when asking questions) to save everyone's time and get best possible help.
Hi Nikolaos,
Noted with Thanks.
Yes, my current requirement is to see who all accessed the AX system from Jan-1-2020 to Till date.
As mentioned, it's not possible if the logging wasn't enabled. You can compare it to surveillance camera, you can only get footage after the camera is installed.
Anyway, is your original question now answered? If yes, could you please mark the helpful answer(s) as verified so that the thread is resolved. Thanks!
Noted with thanks.
I enabled the user log now and started monitoring it.
Thanks to all members who shared their solutions.
The only way is use your active directory forensics . if you have Auditing tool like Netwrix , you can find access logs from there and find out who accessed what.Try with Forensics Expert if you really need to find
those information.
Thanks & Regards,
