Find feature unavailable for one user.

I have a user whose profile seems to have been set to disallow the Find function, either using CTRL-F or the Binoculars icon.  Performing this function from any field brings up the normal box with the standard instructions on how to "Type A to find values from and forward, type 1..9 to find values from..." but there is no field to enter the search criteria.  I tried deleting aoc files and this did not help the situation.
Thanks for any assistance.

Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

Most likely the user accidentally hid the textbox on the find form. Simply right-click on the form, and select "Show" and the control name.

    Hope this helps. --Tom

    Tom,

Your're absolutely correct. What a strange feature! It seems odd that the entry field can be removed in a Find dialog box.  I suppose this functionality is applicable in other instances.

We were able to solve the problem by deleting all of the user's Usage data.  Clearly, this wasn't the best way to fix it, but this is a new user who won't miss his settings.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Andrew,

This feature is part of the great flexibility of Dynamics AX. The application can be customized on a global level via MorphX, or personalized on a per user basis. As you found out, personalized settings are stored in the usage data for each user. You don't have to delete every setting. Just delete the setting for the form, report, dialog that you no longer want. --Tom
