Exporting vendor transactions with financial dimensions using electronic reporting

I have been trying to generate a report that displays vendor transactions including the ledger accounts and financial dimensions used for posting. I am using the electronic reporting framework.

However, I am facing trouble when trying to find the correct tables/paths to display the financial dimensions for the transactions.

I need to find the tables to show the ledger account + dimensions for the main account and offset account used for posting. The starting point is VendTrans table.

I've been trying different paths to reach GeneralJournalAccountEntry table but so far the output is either not a desired one or there is an error when executing the format.

If someone could point me to a right direction regarding what table path I should use to find the correct dimensions it would be greatly helpful.

(I am aware of the existing following thread: https://community.dynamics.com/365/financeandoperations/f/dynamics-365-for-finance-and-operations-forum/399996/export-financial-dimensions-through-electronic-reporting/1083348#1083348 , however, it did not solve my issue)

Best regards,

Mika

    Hi Mika,

When you record a vendor transaction -  for example for an expense invoice - then you usually debit expense accounts and credit the vendor account.

Are you interested in the financial dimensions that are used with the expense accounts or those that are used with the vendor account?

Do you make use of split postings, meaning that you post multiple expense account lines for a single invoice?

Can you also provide us with some more details what your report should include and look like?

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

I would like to capture both; the dimensions used for the vendor account and the ones used for the expense account(s).

I make use of split postings as well.

Please see the example below for a draft of what the report should look like.

Basically I need a transaction list per vendor transaction voucher.

The problem was solved by nesting a filtered generaljournalentry table inside the vendtrans table.

The filtering was done by comparing the voucher number and DataAreaId fields of each table (FILTER() function was used).

This way I could also get the correct dimension values from generaljournalaccountentry table.

    Thank you for your time.

    Best regards,

    Mika
