SQL Server Developer edition for test/demo environments

Hi All,

We are planning to set up a Dynamics AX 2012 R3 test / demo environment.

Can we use  SQL Server Developer edition as a backend.

Whether it is compaitable , is there will be any challenge?

    Hi Arun2402,

    Here you can find system requirements for AX www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx to check if SQL version is supported.  Developer edition includes all the functionality of Enterprise edition, so is fully supported by AX but can be used only in dev and test environments and cannot be used for production.

    In our case we have SQL Server Enterprise Edition core-based license, which can be used for dev and test purposes on our virtualized environments.

    Other than that using Developer edition is also a workable solution.
