modified address in table

Posted on by 1,531

Hi Friends,

When we modify address, We know AX still stores old address, and insert a new one, and display the modified(new) address  only.

Just wondering, in database table, how to distinguish two address records?

    Hi Ganriver,

Addresses are stored in "LOGISTICSPOSTALADDRESS". This table has valid state framework, what that means is it has ValidFrom and ValidTo fields that holds the versioning of the records.

Here is how you can understand this real quick:

    1. Go to a customer, create an address, find in LOGISTICSPOSTALADDRESS table

    2. Go back to same address, modify and say you changed the street, go back to LOGISTICSPOSTALADDRESS table, you will see two records, pay attention to ValidFrom and ValidTo fields in database.

While these are retrieved and shown by default, only current records are shown but others can be seen as well. For addresses, use More options > Advanced. then on the left pane you see Active/Future/history. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Satish Panwar
