Hi experts,

I can't seem to make it works. I have opened Dynamics ax powershell with administration rights.

Run this line : “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\MicrosoftDynamicsAX\bin"

Then when i entered this line :

axbuild.exe xppcompileall /s=01 /nocleanup /altbin=”C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\MicrosoftDynamicsAX\bin” Always got an error.

Here's screenshots to describe it. (Note : My ax32serv.exe and AXBuild.exe are in same path.)

What did i do wrong? How to make it work?

I already follow the steps from here : https://community.dynamics.com/ax/b/alirazatechblog/archive/2015/01/17/using-axbuild-for-fast-compilation-in-dynamics-ax-2012-r3 and here

https://techguns.wordpress.com/2015/04/14/axbuild-compilation-in-ax2012r2-or-later/

Note : I'm running on AX 2012 R3 CU 9. Thank you.

I think you should run this on command prompt that is CMD. follow: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn528954.aspx

Try running it in one command line

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\MicrosoftDynamicsAX\bin\axbuild.exe xppcompileall /s=01 /nocleanup /altbin=”C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\MicrosoftDynamicsAX\bin”

    Or use Set-Location -Path C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\MicrosoftDynamicsAX\bin\

It runs as Kevin suggested, and i'm doing it on CMD. So thanks, but i got another error says that it can't find ax32serv.exe but it's there (on my previous screenshots).. anyone know why?

Altbin is for the client binaries, please have a look msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn528954.aspx

So, why is it the error says that i don't have the AX32serv.exe?

I think my bin is this :

    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\MicrosoftDynamicsAX\bin\axbuild.exe" xppcompileall /aos=01 /nocleanup /altbin=”C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Client\Bin"

But still it says it cant find the ax32serv.exe

Well, in that altbin path, there's only ax32.exe, not ax32serv.exe.

The ax32serv.exe is in the same path as axbuild.exe

Is the altbin really needed? Does is work when you leave this parameter out?

yeah i think so, beacause the msdn wrote so. It doesn't work when i leave the parameter out.
