Posted on by 52
Hello All,

I am new to Business Central and learning it all by myself. I have recently managed to import an excel file in BC through Config Package.

Post the import the data is half uploaded and the uploaded data is incomplete. The numbers of the account is showing where as the name is not showing

Even there is error for some records -
The field Customergroup Code of table G/L Account contains a value (BOTH) that cannot be found in the related table (Dimension Value).
The field Department Code of table G/L Account contains a value (BOTH) that cannot be found in the related table (Dimension Value).

All our suggestion and help is appericated.

Thank you

You also have the capability to map the prior value to a desired BC available value.  Use the Tables Menu > Table > Fields to pull up the list of fields.  Then select your field you wish to map and use the "Mapping" menu option to open up the "Config. Field Mapping" page.

For example, if you wanted "BOTH" to be "NEW" you can setup a data mapping for the Dimension fields in your database.  This way the system will convert the "BOTH" value from your old system into the "NEW" value within Business Central.

Once you have either mapped or cleared the error values when you re-import your data it should populate the missing values on the blank records.

This is normal behavior of Configuration packages. When You try to insert record, the record is created, therefore You see the uploaded data, but afterwards system is doing Modifying and adding all the data on fields in the entry. And if at this moment an error is encountered, the data is moved from Package Data to Package Errors.
There are 2 ways to fix this:
    1)
    A) As YUN ZHU mentioned - You need to add missing dimension value, to the dimension value list.
    B) This can also be done for the configuration package line Field list - place a checkmark - Create missing entries - this will create the dimension value BOTH - but with no description.

    2) if the BOTH was mistakenly taken from other system - you can open the Package Error list - find the column for the dimension value, and clear the value BOTH. Then the entry will be move back to Package Data and You can apply it again.

Hi, It seems that the "BOTH" value is not added to the Dimension Value (Customergroup).
    Please check the value below.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
