Hi,

i am trying to import GL entries for Fixed assets in Dynamics 365. I have imported FA masters and books successfully. Now i have to import FA transactions for opening balance.

i tried to import transactions through General journal entity using DIMF (Data Management)

I am facing error on Account type for GL entry. i have given account type as 'Fixed Assets' but system is throwing error as Account type selected is not supported.

Could you please help me with the opening balance upload for Fixed Assets.

    Hello,

What is the error message that is showing? are you sure it is not related to Account Structure?

Please attach a screen shot of the message.

    Hi Kaled,

I have attached the screenshot below my question, the error is  "the account type selected is not supported". I have selected Fixed Assets as account type for General journal entries for uploading FA opening balance

    Hi Siva,

Just wondering whether you tried importing the transactions into a fixed asset journal, not a GL journal?

The problem with the upload of FA transactions into a GL journal is that the FA tab becomes available after you entered the fixed asset number. At least that was the case in the prior version but I assume that this is still the same. To get the postings correctly recorded you needed to extend the standard import feature by an event handler.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

thanks for you response, i tried uploading using FA acquisition journal, I will not give any offset account but i have to give default dimensions for FA journal lines.

In GL journal import we have field default dimension display value  where as for FA journal import its not there, how can i populate default dimensions for FA journal lines.

When i create FA journal line manually the default dimensions will auto populate where as when i use import framework and import FA journal lines the default dimensions were empty.

    Could you help me here

    Thanks,

    Siva
