Problems with Updating Dynamics Guides environment in power platform admin center - Errorcode -2147160035

Dear all,

I have problems updating the dynamics guides application in the power platform admin center.

The app "says" update required, the update also starts, but then it always aborts with the error code -2147160035.

With the updated apps on Hololens and the authoring software on the PC, I can no longer access the instance.

Thank you very much for your feedback and best regards

Gregor

Hi Gregor, can you check whether you have the System Administrator security role (see docs.microsoft.com/.../upgrade) This is the most common issue that will block the upgrade. Otherwise, I recommend opening a ticket with customer support as the fastest way to resolve an upgrade issue. Let me know if there is any issue opening a ticket.

Hi Dave, i had updateted the solution in former times, so i should have the admin rights. I also have a second environment I use simultanious and I had no problem with updating this. Isnt it possible to read out some hints out of the errorcode? thanks a lot! Gregor

Make sure the user that is updating the solution has a valid Guides license assigned.  This is what hung me up before.

Hi mrydman, thanks for your answer. I am logged in with a valid Guides license and i also have administrator rights.

    Gregor,

I have never had your problem but I was curious, so I did a little research. See this issue and solution posted by Shane Bart with something sorta similar. https://www.shanebart.com/uninstall-crm-profiler/

The issue he had was with the D365 CRM profiler messing with other modules. In particular, if you notice his posted 2nd blue screen of error codes, it has your specific error code 2147160035.

    I hope this helps.

    Best to get support involved:

    1. Go to https://dynamics.microsoft.com/support/.

    2. Under Customer Engagement help + support, select GET SUPPORT. (Guides is not listed but select this category)

    3. Find a phone number or submit a support request through the admin center.

If that doesn't work, send me an IM or email davepinch at microsoft.com so we can work offline to get you started with CSS.
