@rp@an, please make sure you provide descriptive titles for your questions. "Management reporter" is a good candidate for a tag, because it's a category, but it doesn't distinguish your question from threads about Management reporter.

I've changed your title and add a tag for Management Reporter.

    Hi Arpan Sen,

Probably the fastest and easiest way to get familiar with the MR is making use of the default reports that Microsoft ships with MR. In addition, I would recommend that you take a look at the freely available videos on the Dynamics Financial Reporting blog from Microsoft where you can find numerous videos and training sessions that help you getting started with MR. Please see: blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/dynamics_financial_reporting

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Arpan Sen,

What information is included in the lines and columns of your SSRS report?

Can you possibly post a screenprint?

    Hi Ludwig,

In my report "Customer details" columns are printed :

    Serial No

    Account Num

    Date

    Customer Address

    Amount

    Currency code

I just want to print the same report "Customer details" in to MR.

Please let me know the steps. Then i will move report "Customer details" in to MR.

    Thanks!

You can't do that. Management Reporter is not a general-purpose reporting tool; it's limited to financial data. Things like customer address have are out of scope.

Maybe you should first learn a little bit what MR is, before trying to development. It seems that you've picked a wrong tool for your business requirement.

    Hello Arpan Sen,

Unfortunately, MR cannot include things like serial number or customer address.

That is because MR is a financial reporting tool that is based on ledger account and financial dimension transactions.

MR has some basic functionalities to include things like customer account number through attributes but is rather limited when it comes to including information from subledgers.

For that reason, you won't be able to get a MR report with the information mentioned above.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Thanks Ludwig,

    Please let me know

    1. How to run any standard financial report in MR?

    2. Suppose i build one report based on ledger account. Then how to move this new report in MR?

Please give me more shed on this.

    Thanks!

    Hi Arpan Sen,

    @1:

To run a report in MR you need to hit the generate button as exemplified in the next screenprint.

    MR-report.png

Before you can do that you need to setup a row and column definition. The row definition typically holds your ledger accounts and the column definition holds your periods (e.g. month, quarter, etc.)

    @2:

If you have already a report based on ledger accounts then you can basically use this structure to generate a row definition.

The fastest way to do that is (a) generating a row definition with a single single that links to a ledger account (b) marking the complete row definition and copying it to Excel with copy & paste (c) Based on the sample row structure that you copied edit the records in Excel as required. That is add all other rows and ledger accounts (d) Copy all Excel lines back into the row structure. Save it and run the Report thereafter.

    Hope this helps,

    Ludwig
