One of my customers is using the manufactoring module and there have set up work centres for different processes, they make, sell and hire out markees. So for example depending on how much in weigh they need of mental depends how much the direct unit cost will be on the work centre, so that once the item is assembled it has the correct cost price on it. At the moment they have just one work centre for this particular process of galvising the mental needed. But they are having to amend it each time depending on the weight of metal needed.
So the options so far are amend the work centre each time before doing the production order, or having multiple work centres for the different weights (but that could run into hundreds) or add a non inventory stock item for the cost of the galvising metal.
But is it possible to use bespoke on that work centre field so that the system could calculate what the cost would be based on the weight?
