Is there any requirements for Dot Matrix printer in Dynamics 2012? Can we use our existing EPSON LX300 & LX310 particularly in Sales Order Module?

Since We are currently on implementation stage, Does dynamics 2012 has printer issues on dot matrix? We just want to make sure that our old printers can still be use.

    Hi,

As I know there is no specific documentation available on this.

So to me if your current Dot matrix printers are compatible with Windows Version on which AX 2012 is to be installed/deployed/used, it should work fine in theory.

    All the best :)

    Cheers,

    Asim

Thank you for the quick response. Currently, There is a 3rd party developer who develop our customized reports. They recommend to change the old printers for the reason that the fonts are not clear or less readable. What are your recommendation on this matter? I am not a tech guy , if you don't mind what kind of tools does AX is using? All I know is Crsytal Report which is widely used. I need your advise....

one aspect which I faced in past few years at many clients.

if the report size is any Standard ISO page Size(e.g. A4, A3, A5, B1, B2, LETTER etc.), the printer will behave like gentleman.

But if your page size is not any ISO page size, it will be a nightmare. I have experienced behavior of EPSON Printers of series LQ-300** , LQ-600**, both behaved very odd, when page size was non-iso. in case of non-iso page size it will rotate the print. i.e if you will send landscape, it will print portrait and vice-versa.

Also, if you are thinking to utilize the same printer  for reports of different page sizes, it will be tough situation, if end user disturbs the positions of page holder while  taking print-out of new report.

Despite of all the issues, we cannot skip use of these EPSON printers, because these are unusually needed in bank documents and other government documents, where specially multi-pages are involved
