Client is able to view and modify and save Smartlist documents, but when they try to click on the NEW button they get a message that they dont have security permissions to open / or access.

What Role or Task do I need to provide them to allow them to create a NEW smartlist.

    Hello Bill,

Here is what I have on the security needed for the Smartlist created from a view for non sa users.

    1) Grant DYNGRP Select Access to the View. (In SQL Server Management Studio | Click on Databases | Expand out the appropriate database | Expand out Views. Find your custom view, right-click on it and select Properties. Click on Permissions tab and verify that DYNGRP is listed underneath of Users or roles. If not, click on Search and locate that group and add it. You will then want to ensure that Select is marked underneath of the Grant column.)

    2) This user will also need to have access to the Smartlist Object that gets created when you create a new Smartlist using SLB or SmartList Designer – in Security, this would be product Smartlist | type Smartlist object | series Smartlist objects in security task setup window.
Here are the steps that need to be taken to grant security to a security task that is assigned to a role which is assigned to the desired user:

To grant access to a SmartList object that is created by the SmartList Designer, follow these steps:
    1. Click Microsoft Dynamics GP , point to Tools , point to Setup , point to System , and then click Security Tasks .
    2. In the Security Tasks Setup window, open an existing task, or create a new task to find the SmartList objects.
    3. In the Product list, click SmartList .
    4. In the Type list, click SmartList Object .
    5. In the Series list, click SmartList Objects .
    6. After the SmartList objects appear in the Access List pane, click to select the check boxes of the SmartList objects to which you want to grant access.
    7. Click Save .
