Apply XSLT transformation to an xml file in a zip package

Hello everyone, i am wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to apply an XSLT transformation on an XML file inside a zip package? We are attempting to import vendor invoices from one system into dynamics and need to transform the xml files. This is done using power automate where it is only possible to execute an import using a package. We have attempted to import the package directly in the DMF which also gave errors, but now we suspect this might not be possible at all.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Sna,

Next time, please create your question on the Power Automate forum as your question is not related to Dynamics 365 Finance.

It is possible to extract files, apply XSLT files with PowerShell. You can call PowerShell from Power Automate.

Hello André, thank you for your response. Am sorry if the question is confusing i was just trying to give context to what we are attempting to do, the question does relate to 365 finance. In short am just wondering if it is possible in the DMF to apply an XSLT transformation when importing an xml file which is inside a package.zip file?

    Hi Sna,

I think I misunderstood your question. I thought you were looking for an option either using Power Automate or Data Management Framework.

You can read the next blog how to apply transformations if you have an XML file. The blog writes about export, but I thought it was also possible for import: dynamicsnavax.blogspot.com/.../data-management-export-xml-to-json.html

In case the zip file is not in the format of a data management package, you can't use the standard data management features. Then you would need to look again at Power Automate or go for a customization.

    Hello,thank you for the tips!

We believe the zip file is in the right format, we have a package header and manifest in the package.
