Downloading Transactional data for Audit

Hi,
 
We have been asked by our auditors to provide transactional data for the year that reconciles to the Trial Balance (i.e. TB closing balance last year + transactional data = TB YE balance this year) for them to select samples and prove completeness of the population, they require the data source to be D365. We are using the voucher transaction report but we have not been able to export it to excel as it is too big and crashes. Has anyone experienced similar and if so how have you got around it? Our D365 F&O is cloud based.

    Maybe you may use the Management reporter report for inspectors to use.

    To download transactional data from Dynamics 365 F&O for audit purposes, you can try the following approaches:

    1. Data Entity Export: you can utilize the Data Management workspace to export the required transactional data using data entities. You can select the relevant data entity (e.g., General Ledger transactions) and apply filters if necessary. This method allows you to export data in manageable chunks.

    2. Data Export Service: Another option is to set up the Data Export Service. This service enables continuous replication of data from the Finance and Operations database to an Azure SQL Database. You can then access and export the transactional data from the Azure SQL Database, providing a more reliable and efficient way to handle large data volumes.

    3. Customized Reports: If the standard voucher transaction report is causing issues due to size limitations, you may consider creating a customized report that extracts the necessary transactional data within acceptable file size limits.
