Delegation in different workflows in AX 2012

Hi,

I'm looking for how to delegate different workflows (not all workflows) from one user to multiple users like below, but I can't find the solution at present:

1. For requisition workflow: user A wants delegate his review/approval to user B.

2. For time-sheet workflow: user A wants delegate his review/approval to user C.

Please help me!

    Well, you have got many choices

    1) Use Delegations, in case User-A will be away of office/system/machine

    2) Use Reassign Button (Manually) on individual work items using workflow history form. This option may be utilized if on-purpose User A wants task to be assigned to someone else.

    3) Set-up auto-delegations in workflow configuration, i.e. if Due-Time is expired, it should be routed to anyone else. That you can define in Workflow configuration

    So, depending upon your scenario, you can opt for any choice among three, above

    Hi Sohaid,

    Thanks so much for your advice. Regarding three choices above:

    1. Using Delegation: I already tried this option. As my understanding, this delegation from user A to user B will apply for all activate workflows within a specified period. So any work items that be routed to user A in workflows, they will be then routed automatically to user B in that period of time. However this option cannot be applied to my situation because user A only needs to delegate to user B in requisition workflow only. For timesheet workflow, user A wants to delegate to user C (not user B).

    2. Using Reassign button: This option is nice for manually reassign, but this cannot applied to my situation because user A wants AX delegate to other users (user A or user B depending on requisition workflow or timesheet one) automatically within a specified period (i.e. his vacation for example).

    3. This choice looks a good idea & new to me. Honestly I haven't tried this option before. However it requires to modify the current workflow I think & every time user A wants to delegate to someone else different, the corresponding workflow has to be modified again. Therefore this approach may not be applicable to my situation because user A changes his mind all the time, sometimes to user C, another time to user D or etc..

    At present, I use Delegation under /System administration/Common/Users/Users > Options > Delegation for my requisition workflow. For timesheet workflow, I temporarily change value of 'position # of user A' to 'position # of user C' in the field/column 'Report to position' in the form of /Human resources/Common/Organization/Positions/Positions.

    This approach has several manual steps to do (to change the Report to position). However it's pretty god to satisfy user A's delegation request on his vacation.

    for #1 you can filter/apply delegation per workflow, also.

    you can apply two different delegations for two different workflows .

    the first field gives you choice to filter by workflow/module/all.

    for your scenario you can select Workflow and in next field name you can select your workflow.
