What is the best way to pass current user and user id to an Iframe?

I'm looking for an efficient solution to passing the current user and user id to an iframe from a crm page. I've thought of adding fields to the page and grabbing it through javascript in the iframe but that doesn't seem like the best option. I know I can pass query params down to the iframe but im not sure if i can add user name/id to those params?

You can use getContentWindow method to pass userid/username to your HTML web resource. Check this kb - docs.microsoft.com/.../getcontentwindow
