New AX user and we are implementing AX without PM module. We would like to be able to assign certain purchase orders to clients (pass-through charges related tot heir project) without having to re-key them in later. Our AX consultant is telling us this is not possible without PM module. Is there a work-around? Is there a way to do this with PM module "on" in some basic mode?

Good Morning tdaviau,
Does PM stand for the project module or for something else?
In general, it is not possible to assign a purchase order that is already created subsequently to a project.
If you are not using the project module anyway, you can possibly make use of a financial dimension that you call 'project'. This is a quite flexible way of tracking projects even if you do not make use of the project module. That is, the 'project' findim can be assigned even after the purchase order is created. When doing that you miss, however, the full possibilities and functionalities that you have available in the project module. Yet, this might be a kind of workaround that you can discuss with your colleagues.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi tdaviau,
What exactly you do mean with PM? Product Management, Project Management or Production Management? Can you elaborate on the process? What exactly do you mean with pass-through charges? What is the base for these charges?
