Management Reporter 2012 Very Slow Queue to Processing Time

I've upgraded MR to the latest CU9 but we still have a very slwo reports.  These are not complicated reports.  Even a single company's BS report takes a full 2-3 minutes at the Queue stage before it starts to process.  Once it processes it only takes about 20 seconds.  We have the MR and its process server on one server and the database on another server.  FRx was sooooo much faster.

Why does it sit in queue stage for so long when no one else is printing or even logged into MR?  We do not use the datamart.

    Hi,

Are you using Legacy Adapter? legacy adapter retrieve\sink speed is slow compared to Data Mart.

Generally Queue stage takes little time to load the report in IE.

How about generating the same report in report viewer?

Yes we use the legacy adapter as it was recommended due to so many issues with the data mart when we implemented MR.    I use the Management Report viewer not IE.

What I don't understand is why it goes "Queuing" to "Queued" then sits at Queued for a full 3 minutes before it starts to process.  Once it starts to process it's pretty quick.  Why does it hang at Queued if nothign is really queued.  Can we remove the queuing completely like FRx?  We only have 3 users.

I've read that thread (77849) but there are no resolutions in it.  We do not have an issue with processing.  My issue is it hangs at Queued for over 3 minutes.  Processing is actually pretty quick.

If you using Legacy Adapter, then the performance will be slow (compare to the Data Mart). Because the Data Mart will get the data directly from MR server and Legacy Adapter get the same from GP server and Store it into MR server then displaying it to the reports(These process are happens while queuing the report in each time). So, based on the GP Server &  MR server connectivity it will take few minutes to get the same.

Note: While queuing the MR report, it will try to connect and get the details from GP server to MR server.

I would recommend you to use Data Mart adapter for better performance of MR reports.

    Hope this helps!!!

We have over 15 companies that we run reports for.  Will this not add a substantial amount of data/reads/writes onto our server as we run LIVE reports daily (trial balanes, BS).  Doesn't really make sense for us to have to duplicate all these companies into a data mart.
