Hi guys,
I have to make some modification on LedgerJournalTable form (here is the standard form)
In fact, i need to add a field representing a dimension attribute with all it values (the dimension values just here)
There when we create a new journal we could add the default dimension value we want to spare some time.
Someone know how i could do it please ?
Regards.
Hi Mack,
In addition to the reply from Komi and as I mentioned above, you can already set dimensions on the Journal name form. These are indeed the standard features provided in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.
Hello,
You can default some financial dimension values on journal header which will flow to the lines by doing the setup the journal name itself under the General ledger module. This is an Out of the Box functionality.
Hello,
Thank you for answering me.
Like i told i'm a newbie that s the first Time i am handling dimensions.
My requirement for this client is to spare some Time and try to help users to make less mistakes by forgotting to put dimension.
IS there a standard way to reach that field on this general journal grid ?
Thank you again Andre Arnaud de Calavon
Hi Mack,
I'm not able to understand the difference between your custom field and the default dimensions you can set on the journal name, or journal table. If you specify the dimensions on the journal name, when creating a new journal, it will copy the dimensions to the journal header. Then when entering new lines, the dimensions will be copied to the lines if you fill an account.
What would be the purpose of the custom field? What would be the difference with the standard functionality?
goshoom any idea or suggestion to handle that case please ?
I hope its more understoodable, i'm still a newbie on D365 so let me know if i'm mistaken and couldnt do that ?
Hi guys,
My requirement is when i wanna create a new journal a new custom field (combobox) in this grid with all dimension values will let me choose one and take it as default dimension value for all the journal.
I need to get it there because people forgot to put dimension very often.
Then if i have the possibility to choose dimension at the moment i am creating journal it will be much easier to remember and to choose it as well.
Have you suggestions ? Komi Siabi ? Andre Arnaud de Calavon ?
Thanksfully
Hi Mack,
There is already an option to provide the financial dimensions which will be filled in automatically once you enter an account. What other behavior are you expecting?
Hello Mack,
If I get you well, you want a setup where you can have predefined Financial dimension value. Once a General Journal is created, this should automatically populate the journal header. Please, did I get you right?
